Pitch perfect New Zealand – Softball Give It a Go Day!
September 23 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Women’s Softball is making its highly anticipated return to the Olympics in 2020 and with it the chance for New Zealand to add another medal to its increasing collection.
The universally popular sport is currently dominated by New Zealand – the Black Sox are reigning world champs – despite the lack of awareness about the game and minute player base on offer in New Zealand.
This could all change on Sunday September 23 at Rosedale Park in Albany. East Coast Bays United Softball Club is providing children of all ages with an opportunity to try their hands at softball in what it is calling a “give it a go day”.
The day will focus on introducing children and parents to softball and immerse them in the game that could see them winning a medal at an Olympics in the future.
The day will encourage children to be active and get involved in softball games, activities and
competitions. Parents can get involved too, or relax with a refreshment in hand as their children take part with the chance to win prizes and develop a love for a sport that creates opportunities for players globally.
Rosedale Park is the location of the 2021 men’s World Softball Championships. Children will have the opportunity to play the game where the best in the world will soon play it.
