We are looking for a Communications Manager with a minimum of three years’ experience who wants to support equity for women and girls in sport and recreation in New Zealand and internationally.

Your role will see you working directly into the CEO, with overall responsibility for developing the brand profile and delivering a communications strategy for both Women in Sport Aotearoa (WISPA) and the International Working Group (IWG) on Women & Sport on a national and international level.

This will include development of strategic plans, content strategies and brand and promotional assets, plus you will lead all external communications, including websites, social media and media. You will also work in partnership with a new Events & Project Manager to deliver key events, with responsibility for the promotional campaigns and for direct liaison with any speakers or VIPs.

To be effective in this role you will need excellent multi-purpose written and verbal communications skills. You will have experience in all aspects of marketing communications, plus experience in creating content for a variety of channels including digital and social. You will have experience managing media programmes and a wide network of contacts. You will have also had experience in strategic planning and in regularly reporting against targets and KPIs.

Future success will be your ability to form solid relationships both internally and externally across a variety of stakeholders, suppliers and organisations.

Written English must be excellent. Second language(s) are very welcome (particularly Spanish, French, Chinese, Arabic or Te Reo Māori).

This role is currently planned as a flexible 3-4 day per week contract role initially running to 31 December 2021.

The successful applicant will be based at the WISPA offices in Auckland, New Zealand.
