This highly varied role suits someone who has previous management experience and a solid business background. Preferably you will have knowledge of either the ski and/or sporting industry. You will be a natural leader and communicator, charismatic in nature, but know how to roll up your sleeves and get the job done. You thrive on leading a team to success.
Your primary focus will be on executive management of the organisation, business development, marketing & promotion, finance and HR, however you will also get your hands dirty with some operational and admin tasks.
Your office base is flexible (with no requirement to live or work at the field) but as a leader, you will by no means be a stranger to the staff who have a love for the powder.
This role has the chance to affect the ski field in a positive way & help people enjoy their time on the slopes whether it be skiing, snowboarding or hiring a toboggan. If you like a challenge and know how to harness a team of employees and volunteers, look no further.
The Rainbow Ski Area is owned and operated by the Rainbow Sports Club Inc. Located high in the north of the great mountain chain within the world famous Nelson/Marlborough region and reaching a height of over 1760 metres, Rainbow captures regular winter snow, complemented by extensive snow making, all superbly groomed to create a stunning winter playground.
With an annual membership of over 500 and an additional 15,000+ ticket sales by casual members we are a busy boutique field that boasts wide uncrowded slopes and well groomed trails. We provide great terrain for beginners / intermediates yet still provide advanced skiers and snow boarders challenging riding in the high powder runs and chutes.
