ACC in collaboration with TVNZ and partners across the health sector, is bringing an exercise programme, called Healthy For Life to our TV screens from this Saturday. This is in response to the fact that older New Zealanders can’t attend community strength and balance classes due to the COVID-19 lockdown unless they are able to participate in an online class. Hopefully it will also encourage those who don’t currently attend a strength and balance class to start exercising safely at home and subsequently join a class when it becomes safe to do so.Healthy for Life is hosted by former-Silver Fern Bernice Mene and is designed to help older people work on their strength and balance through the Super7 exercise programme. It also provides tips on staying safe in the home, keeping your brain active, keeping up social links with friendships, and healthy eating. The show screens from this Saturday (2nd May) on TV 1 at 9am and repeats Saturdays thereafter. It will also be available on TVNZ OnDemand
