Job Summary

Harbour Sport is seeking a proactive and organised individual to deliver the ACC Live Stronger for Longer Community Strength and Balance programme (CSB) in Counties Manukau. This position focusses on the delivery of key contract objectives in the Counties Manukau health board area and are part of a regional team delivering to the Waitematā and Auckland health districts.

  • Fixed term ends 30/6/2025
  • Salary of $58,000 + Vehicle + Kiwisaver

Job Description

CSB is delivered in collaboration with ACC, local health providers and community partners, and is committed to working towards reducing injuries from falls in older people.

The primary objective of this work is to achieve the contract requirements through implementation of our programme of work; meeting our goals of maintaining the existing network of approved CSB classes, establishing additional classes in areas where they are not currently available, increasing engagement and attendance in evidence based strength and balance initiatives for older people who at risk of falling and improving equity of access to meet demand, cultural diversity and affordability.

Key deliverables include:

  • Work with current providers of existing, approved CSB classes to ensure ongoing compliance with ACC criteria and maintain engagement in the programme.
  • Design and deliver workshops/trainings for CSB providers and community organisations.
    Identify/establish new classes. Collaborate with diverse community organisations to enable/ensure approved classes.
  • Promote and represent the CSB programme in the local area.
  • Maintain high administrative standards, including report writing.
  • Collaborative team work to support the success and development of the CSB programme.
  • Proactively seek continuous improvement in your work, so we can provide a better service.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the exercise industry or closely related field, with a good understanding of older people and their needs, and significant experience working with, and/or strong connection to, Māori and/or Pacific and/or Asian communities, preferably in the Counties Manukau area. The successful candidate will also display strong alignment to our values of integrity, respect, leadership, inclusive and whakawhanaungatanga.
