The Rainbow Inclusion team are working within the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion project group. Our goal is to make a safe and inclusive environment for the rainbow communities and takatāpui in North Shore’s sport, recreation, and play space.
On this page, you will find information about the rainbow and sport communities in Aotearoa as well as resources for rainbow athletes and different providers.
Our Partnership with Pride Pledge
What is Pride Pledge?
The Pride Pledge is a values-based commitment that organisations and individuals can take to demonstrate their dedication to the safety, visibility and inclusion of the rainbow members of their community and workforce, both internally and externally. Pride Pledge work across sporting and health organisations, and all identities, sectors and organisation sizes.
How can we benefit from a partnership with Pride Pledge?
We want to use this partnership to develop our Rainbow Inclusion and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion space within Harbour Sport and ensure that all our mahi is inclusive to everybody in our community.
Pride Pledge have a national partnership with NZ Rugby and NZ Golf and recently partnered with North Harbour Hockey and Sport NZ. They have created a Rainbow Ready Rugby guide for NZ Rugby. We look forward to building this relationship with Pride Pledge.
