Harbour Sport is on the lookout for an energetic, culturally savvy leader to become our next ActivAsian Community Manager. Guided by our values of manaakitanga (care), rangatiratanga (leadership) and whanaungatanga (connection), you’ll lead mahi (work) that brings people together to co-design and deliver initiatives which grow participation in play, active recreation and sport for Asian communities across the Harbour Region.

What you’ll do
- Champion collaboration to continuously grow and improve ActivAsian initiatives.
- Spot and support community leaders to create culturally responsive opportunities.
- Build strong partnerships with schools, clubs, funders and ethnic-community groups.
- Lead budgets, grants and funding processes to keep initiatives sustainable.
- Celebrate success and inspire participation through creative marketing and storytelling.
- Deliver cultural capability workshops that lift understanding across the sector.
- Coach and support a small, passionate team of coordinators, interns and volunteers.
About you – essentials
- Tertiary qualification in sport & recreation, community development, health promotion or similar.
- 3+ years’ experience designing and delivering community programmes (sport/active recreation is a bonus).
- Proven ability to connect with Asian communities or other diverse cultural groups.
- Strong facilitation and relationship-building skills, with cultural competence at the core.
- High energy, initiative and creativity – you love making things happen.
- Confidence in securing and managing funding to keep great ideas moving.
