Squash Auckland is the district organisation for squash in the greater Auckland region and the largest district within Squash New Zealand.
We are seeking a General Manager to join the team and help take the game to another level. Reporting to the Board, the General Manager is responsible for leading a small team of staff and volunteers and ensuring the strategic vision is delivered.
The position requires these attributes:
- Knowledge and experience of strategic planning and implementation
- Excellent interpersonal, organisational and presentation skills
- Self-motivation and self-management
- Experience and exposure to the sports & recreation sector
- Computer skills, including presentation preparation
- Financial skills, including understanding of accounting, budget development and management
- Sponsorship and funding experience
- Relationship building with clubs, Squash NZ and other stakeholders
- Ability to develop initiatives to take the sport ‘to the people’ and to motivate clubs to increase participation
- Ability to manage and maintain relationships across the sports sector
This role is full-time with occasional evening and weekend work required. Squash Auckland are open to flexible work arrangements for the right candidate. Starts in late January 2024.
