Tū Manawa Active Aotearoa
Harbour Sport is proud to be partnering with Aktive to manage the Tū Manawa Active Aotearoa Fund on behalf of Sport NZ in the Harbour Region.
What is Tū Manawa?
- A fund that supports tamariki and rangatahi (young people) in accessing quality play, active recreation, and sport experiences.
- Projects or programmes engaging those who are inactive, face major barriers, (such as cost, travel, exclusion, low confidence)
- Successful applicants demonstrate genuine interest and needs of these groups (engaging them in the planning process and addresssing the barriers they face)
What is its Purpose?
- Provides opportunities for tamariki and rangatahi to engage in activity of their choice within their community or school/kura.
- Welcomes applications from a wide range of organizations offering these opportunities, with emphasis on those who are inactive.
- Priority groups are: Children and young people in higher deprivation communities, Girls and young women (5-18 years), Disabled children and young people (5-18 years).
FUNDING TYPES
Applications must be for a programme or project for up to a maximum of 12 months (i.e. you cannot apply for costs past a 12-month delivery period)
Fast Fund (up to $10,000)
- Up to a maximum of $10,000
- Opens: Monday 5 August at 8am.
- Closes: When funds have been exhausted for our region
- Fast Fund decisions are made via an internal panel consisting of staff members who assess all applications.
- Decisions are made within four weeks of receiving the application.
Local Fund (over $10,000)
- Over $10,000
- Round One 2024/2025 Local and Regional Fund
- Opens: Monday 19 August 2024 at 8am
- Closes: Monday 16 September 2024 at 11.59pm
- Round Two 2024/2025 Local and Regional Fund
- Opens: Monday 1 March 2025 at 8am
- Closes: Monday 31 March 2025 at 11.59pm
- Local and Regional Fund decisions are made via an independent Advisory Group consisting of community members who assess all applications. Advisory Group recommendations are finalised by our Board.
- Decisions are made within eight weeks of receiving the application.
Expression of Interest
If you would like to find out if your project idea is suitable for Tū Manawa Active Aotearoa, we invite you to complete an expression of interest.
This requires you to answer a couple of questions and summarise what your project/activity is about, who will be involved and how much you are seeking from the Tū Manawa Active Aotearoa fund.
We will provide feedback on what you have submitted and an indication of further work that may be required before a full application should be forwarded for consideration. Please be aware that support for your application or an acknowledgement that your application is ready to progress, is no guarantee that your application will be approved.
Apply - Fast Fund
In order to apply for the Fast Fund, you must first complete a registration form.
After completing the registration form, you will receive an email with the unique application link for your organization.
When applying, ensure that you clear your cache (history) and you are using Google Chrome to complete the application. Your draft application will autosave for up to 20 days.
Apply - Local & Regional Fund
In order to apply for the Local and Regional Fund, you must first complete a registration form.
After completing the registration form, you will receive an email with the unique application link for your organization.
